Important information about applying to the AINP

Complete all the required forms and include all required documents before mailing an application to the AINP. Your application will be not be processed and will be returned to you if it is incomplete. A complete application is an application that includes all of the required documents listed on the document checklist.

You must only submit one application for consideration to the AINP. If you think you are eligible for than one category, it is your responsibility to review all available AINP streams and categories, and then submit one application for the category that you think would be most beneficial to you.

Tips for preparing your AINP application

Filling out AINP forms - The AINP has introduced a bar code to some of our application forms to make it easier for those applying to the program. Download our Helpful hints (PDF) to assist you in filling out the application forms. You will need at least Adobe Reader 8.1 to fill out the application forms. If you do not have Adobe Reader 8.1, download the program for free here.

Preparing your application package - Applications must be in one package, held together by paper clips with the document checklist on top. Do not staple documents. Do not submit documents in binders, plastic protectors or folders, and do not include paper/plastic dividers. Remember to double check your mailing address and the contact information you provide in your application, as the AINP needs correct information to communicate with you regarding your application.

Submitting your application - Applications must be mailed to the AINP; the AINP does not accept applications by email or fax. To track delivery of your application, send it by registered mail or by courier. The AINP will notify you of your file number after your application has been received. This may take up to 30 days. See the AINP processing times page for more information on processing times.
