Import/Export Controls

Primarily due to security reasons, there are certain goods that require export or import permits. This is regulated by the Export and Import Permits Act, administered by the Export and Import Controls Bureau (EICB).

Goods that require permits are listed in the export control list or the import control list. There are also permits required for exports of goods to certain countries listed in the area control list.

Packaging and Labelling Requirements

Goods imported to and exported from Canada must adhere to certain regulations regarding their packaging and labelling.
