Consumer Packaging & Labelling Act
The Consumer Packaging and Labelling Act from the Government of Canada imposes general obligations to ensure pre-packaged products do not use false or misleading representations.
Labels must be accurate and meaningful so that consumers are able to make informed purchasing decisions. The Act also requires that certain specifications about the product are included in the label (such as the name of the product, net quantity and dealer identity).
